Job title: Onsite Desktop Engineer (Pretoria) Contract position

To deliver fast, friendly and highly technical first- and second-line IT support with a strong focus on the Microsoft ecosystem, ensuring end-users experience near-zero downtime on their Windows devices, Microsoft 365 applications, and modern workplace tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 desktops & laptops
  • Provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Set up and support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
  • Manage Active Directory user accounts, permissions, and group policies
  • Install and maintain printers, scanners, and peripheral devices
  • Assist with network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Perform hardware repairs/upgrades (RAM, HDD/SSD, screens, etc.)
  • Manage backup and recovery processes
  • Support IP telephony/VoIP systems (e.g., 3CX, Microsoft Teams Phone)
  • Maintain IT asset register and software licensing
  • Assist with new user onboarding and offboarding
  • Document support tickets and resolutions in the helpdesk system
  • Adhere to IT security policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Diploma / Degree in IT or related
  • Microsoft Qualification, A+,N+ and Security+
