Description Hire Resolve is currently looking for a talented Pricing Actuary to join our client's team in Sandton. As a Pricing Actuary, you will play a key role in developing and implementing pricing models and strategies to ensure accurate and competitive insurance premiums. You will collaborate with underwriters, data scientists, and other stakeholders to analyze market trends, evaluate risks, and provide data-driven pricing recommendations. Additionally, you will support the underwriting and sales teams with insights and optimization strategies to drive business performance and profitability. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage pricing activities in the Life and Health insurance field
  • Develop and enhance pricing models and strategies
  • Analyze market trends and evaluate risks
  • Provide data-driven pricing recommendations
  • Collaborate with underwriting and sales teams to optimize business performance
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in the insurance industry
 
 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
  • Previous working experience in the Life (re-)insurance industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (particularly Excel)
  • Experience of coding 
  • Strong technical, analytical and modelling skills.
  • Takes accountability and can work independently.
  • Produces a high standard of work with an appropriate level of attention to detail.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Have an ability to network and cultivate relationships 
  • Strong decision making abilities
  • Recently qualified Actuary / Very nearly qualified
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and VBA.
  • Good working knowledge of any of the following: SAS, R, Python, SQL.
