In this role, you will work within a collaborative team dedicated to implementing Health and Safety requirements related to customer projects. You will engage with cross-functional teams from customer, Nokia project team and Suppliers, leveraging your Health and Safety experience and knowledge to drive H&S risk mitigation strategy and achieve our H&S Goal. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Acts as customer interface for Project Health & Safety management.
  • Support the development, maintenance and monitor the execution of project/customer specific health & safety plan and ensure alignment with customer and suppliers' contractual requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Nokia Life Saving Rules and Vodacom Absolute Rule by project team and suppliers
  • Conduct induction training sessions with Nokia employees and suppliers prior to deployment on projects
  • Identifies, initiates and follows up on H&S corrective and preventive improvement actions for projects.
  • Perform project H&S risk profiling and communicate needs to Procurement for supplier selection.
  • Implement the program of supervision, monitoring and audit to ensure that high risk activities are appropriately controlled.
  • Ensure H&S file is compiled for each project and that the updated file is available.
  • Manage H&S project resources & resource requirements.
  • Prepare monthly health & safety report and circulate to customer and project team and conduct project review meetings.
  • Attend customer meeting and follow up on action items for implementation.
  • Conduct H&S due diligence site visits in all regions of responsibility.
  • Ensure all accident/incident/near miss reported on time and conduct accident investigations.
  • Conduct regular H&S meetings with various project teams in assigned account.
  • Participate in any third-party audit on H&S where needed.
  • Update training matrix and arrange training or re-training as needed
  • Facilitate Senior Leaders Safety Tours
  • Compile monthly KPI dashboard with all relevant information
  • Use Safety360 or other tools to upload all H&S related documents and Inspection reports

Key Skills And Experience
Must-Have:

  • Degree level education preferably a telecom graduate
  • NEBOSH/SAMTRC qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Telecom H&S
  • Knowledge of South African legal requirement related to Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiar with Vodacom/Vodafone/Safaricom H&S requirements
  • Proficiency with MS office tools especially excel to manage reporting and generate dashboard for each region H&S performance KPIs

Nice-To-Have:

  • Experience with ISO certification programs and internal audits
  • Experience in project management within the telecom field
  • Familiarity with QHS inspection tools and software like s360, NDPd
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with suppliers
  • Membership in any health and safety associations
  • Digital safety awareness and innovation mindset.
