Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Qualified Mechanical Fitter (Pipelines) based in Lephalale. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of pipeline systems. Day-to-day tasks include conducting preventive maintenance, performing routine inspections, diagnosing and repairing faults, and ensuring optimal functioning of machinery and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification:
     Red Seal Trade Test Certification (Section 13 or 26D) as a Mechanical Fitter.
  • Experience:
     Minimum of 3-7 years post-apprenticeship experience in a mining environment.
  • Technical skills:
     Experience with pipe threading and roll grooving, reading and interpreting blueprints, and using hand and power tools.
  • Skills in Preventive Maintenance and regular Maintenance tasks
  • Proficiency in working with Machinery
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
  • Ability to work independently and on-site
  • Experience in the civil engineering or mining sectors is a plus
