Cost and Management Accountant

Minimum of a BCom degree specialising in Accounting or Management Accounting

An Honours degree or CIMA qualification in any of these fields will be an advantage

Minimum of 2-5 years progressive financial experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment

Experience in interrogating data to conduct analysis of site performance, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities

Proven capacity to convert analyses to a tangible output

Proven knowledge and experience with product costings, production variance investigations and stock management

Maintaining financial transaction records/posting modular transactions

Effective communicator to all business stakeholders

Support the FM in ensuring compliance with all internal and external financial processes and related good practice strategies as well as compliance with SOPs

In depth analysis of variances, including raw material, packaging, production, labour, transport, margin, overheads etc

Month end reconciliations

Processing and authorisation of journals

Collaborate with the factory on inventory control, physical counts, investigate variances and resolve issues daily/weekly

Stock management input, including BOMs, costings, variances obsolescence and other stock related tasks

Conduct profitability analysis with cross functional teams to improve operational efficiencies

Develop and implement cost saving initiatives to improve financial performance

Establish workable and sustainable methods of measuring and tracking productivity; and identifying and implementing improvements

Support the FM in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting (weekly, monthly, and as required)

Plan, organise, guide and direct the Finance Team as required
