Maverick Events is looking for a highly experienced and exceptionally organised National Logistics & Traffic Manager to join our leadership team.

This is a senior, high-impact role at the centre of our business, overseeing all logistics operations across our four branches (Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Plettenberg Bay). We deliver hundreds of brand activations and events nationwide, and during peak season, you'll be coordinating the seamless execution of up to 50 events in a single day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Event & Activation Scheduling
  – Manage the national event calendar, ensuring all projects are captured, aligned, and resourced correctly.
• Brand Asset Oversight
  – Maintain client-owned brand assets in storage, ensure accurate inventory, quality control, and readiness for deployment.
• Fleet & Rentals Management
  –
• Oversee all truck rental bookings, invoices, and compliance with km allocations.
• Manage weekly inspections, allocate fines/damages, and strategically distribute fleet workload.
• Staffing & Training
  –
• Onboard, vet, and train casual activation staff before deployment.
• Oversee staff allocations, preventing under/over-booking, and manage absences or on-duty incidents.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination
  – Collaborate with Heads of Accounts, Events, and Furniture Rentals to ensure flawless client delivery.
• Client & Internal Communication
  – Track on-site setups/takedowns, provide real-time client updates, and resolve escalations quickly.
• Financial Oversight
  – Keep accurate chase lists; ensure no items leave without valid purchase orders or payments.
• Branch Logistics
  – Plan and oversee cost-effective inter-branch transfers of furniture, toolkits, and stock.
• Leadership & Problem-Solving
  – Mentor logistics coordinators, manage high-pressure situations, and take ownership of escalations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please note that we juggle upwards of 40 activations and events a day in season - this job requires extreme and critical organisational skills, and a cool head under pressure is an absolute must. You need to be able to run multiple projects at once, an extreme problem solver who can think on their feet and who leads with confidence and pride. This job is not for the faint hearted - please do not apply if you do not have the correct experience.

• 10+ years' experience in
  logistics, operations, or large-scale event management
  (senior level).
• Proven track record of managing
  multi-branch, high-volume operations
  .
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage large, diverse teams.
• Exceptional
  organisational, communication, and problem-solving
  skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver at scale.
• Flexibility to support
  after-hours operations
  (with a dedicated support team sharing the load).
