Our client in Westmead, Durban is looking for an experienced Senior Draughtsman to join their busy and fast-paced shopfitting and shelving manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent design skills, and proven experience in managing draughting operations within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings for shopfitting projects.
  • Convert design concepts into accurate, production-ready technical drawings.
  • Liaise with production and project teams to ensure a smooth workflow from design to manufacture.
  • Assign and oversee work for draughting team members (experienced and junior draughtsman).
  • Optimize designs for material usage and manufacturing efficiency using nesting programs.
  • Maintain and update design libraries, templates, and drawing records.
  • Follow job orders and ensure all design deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Requirements & Skills
  • Diploma in Draughting, Design, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a shopfitting or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Cypnest, Maxcut, and Excel.
  • Strong technical understanding of shopfitting and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Able to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
