What We Need:
We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing, administering, and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure to ensure system reliability, security, and efficiency. This role involves working with a wide range of systems. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards in IT operations.

Key Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking and Planning:
    Ability to develop and execute comprehensive cybersecurity and infrastructure strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation:
    Expertise in identifying and managing cybersecurity risks, ensuring the organization's assets are protected.
  • Technical Acumen:
    Proficiency in network security technologies and managing complex IT infrastructures, including cloud platforms like Google.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex security concepts.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning:
    Ability to stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats and technologies through ongoing learning and innovation.
  • Cybersecurity Management:
    Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive cybersecurity program, conducting risk assessments and vulnerability testing. Assist in investigating, mitigating, and reporting security breaches, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Infrastructure Management:
    Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and storage solutions. Monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and perform updates and upgrades to maintain security and efficiency.
  • Server & Application Management:
    Manage and maintain both Microsoft and Linux-based servers, ensuring optimal performance and security. Support the deployment and administration of applications and enterprise systems.
  • Network & Security Management:
    Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices like switches and firewalls.
  • IT Governance and Compliance:
    Maintain IT governance processes, ensuring alignment with security and operational best practices. Experience with PCI DSS would be a strong advantage.

What you need:

  • National Certificate – Grade 12 (NQF 4)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Linux Essentials, or ITIL Foundation will be advantageous.
  • Min 2 years experience in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure.
  • PCI DSS experience would be advantageous.
