Advisory Manager

There are two key components to the business; the client team who advise our clients on actuarial, financial and statistical modelling, and our software team who continue to develop our innovative enterprise modelling platform Psicle. THE OPPORTUNITY:

This role is suited to an experienced individual with a relevant degree in statistics, engineering, actuarial science or similar and an interest in leading and managing process transformation and advisory engagements for our banking clients, specialising in credit risk modelling, capital adequacy and regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage process transformation and advisory engagements for banking clients, particularly in credit risk modelling, capital adequacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide subject matter expertise on IFRS 9.
• Review and challenge banking model assumptions, methodologies, and documentation in line with regulatory expectations.
• Manage other insurance actuarial/data/finance transformation projects with support from insurance subject matter experts in the business.
• Present findings and recommendations to client senior management and audit/risk committees
• Mentor and coach junior team members and contribute to team development

SKILLS

Skills, experience & qualifications

• 5+ year of experience in actuarial, risk, or quantitative roles within consulting, banking, or banking regulatory environments
• Strong background in IFRS 9 modelling is the base technical requirement. Experience with Basel frameworks, and other capital modelling frameworks in banking is an advantage.
• Some experience with actuarial/data modelling or risk management in insurance will be an advantage
• Experience designing technical models as well as overseeing implementation and use of technical models
• Business acumen to link technical solutions with business outcomes
• Right work in South Africa
