IT Manager
Babylonstoren is seeking a talented and dedicated IT Manager to oversee the estate's IT operations, infrastructure, and strategy. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership skills to ensure secure, reliable, and guest-focused technology services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years' experience in IT operations, with exposure to project leadership.
- Experience in hospitality or retail environments, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), PowerShell scripting, and ITIL/cybersecurity frameworks will be an advantage.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
- Knowledge of IT systems, networking, security, databases, and telephony.
- Proficiency in Microsoft administration across Windows and macOS environments.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with IT best practices, compliance standards, and disaster recovery processes.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with operational goals and guest expectations.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, servers, networks, and communication systems.
- Ensure core systems (property management system, POS, Wi-Fi, conferencing, back-office applications, etc.) are secure, reliable, and fully functional.
- Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks across the estate.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, apply updates, and conduct disaster recovery testing.
- Provide responsive IT support to staff and ensure the availability of consistent guest-facing systems (internet access, in-room entertainment, POS).
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and controls, ensuring compliance with POPIA and other regulations.
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee SLAs.
- Maintain documentation of IT assets, configurations, and procedures.
- Train staff on the secure and effective use of IT systems.
- Lead IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Manage virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V or similar) and multiple VM environments.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend standby support.
- Lead and develop a small IT support team.
