This is an excellent opportunity for a JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (1-2 years' experience), or a COMPUTER SCIENCE GRADUATE, to gain extensive technical training and further education in becoming a SOFTWARE ENGINEER in the INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT sector.

Offering 100% REMOTE WORK, this JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER role offers a salary of R450K – R700K (based on skills/experience).

THE COMPANY:

This is an established WEALTH & INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY headquartered in the UK (London) and with operations in SOUTH AFRICA.

They are a highly respected name in the Investment Management Industry. Their software engineering team build Financial Trading Applications for global stock markets, and also develop and reengineer internal systems used by actuaries, traders and brokers across the global business.

This role offers a great opportunity for you to gain experience in Financial Services, specifically trading systems, market data (Bloomberg, Refinitiv etc) and stock settlements technologies.

THE ROLE:

To succeed in this company you must be passionate about technology in financial markets / private wealth management - this passion is the most important thing.

You must also be open to a very steep learning curve.

You will start off as a Junior Developer (receiving a lot of training), and then in time transition into either a dedicated Software Engineering or DevSecOps Engineering position – that choice will be yours.

In this process you will be taught advanced skills in:

C#, F#, C++, Python, JavaScript, and Functional languages,

SQL Server,

DevSecOps Practises (Security best practises, CI/CD, Observability etc),

Cloud (Azure),

AI (LLM's, Agentic systems),

Operating Systems: Windows and Linux,

Enterprise technology products (RabbitMQ, K8S, Docker, Redis, NGINX, Grafana, Loki, Traefik etc.).

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:

Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics (or a similar technical / numerical discipline) is absolutely essential.

Some coding ability (even if it's basic) in any of the following: C#, .NET, C++, Python, or any other strong programming language.

A genuine passion for technology and problem-solving (show me your GitHub, or personal projects, or research).

Curiosity about cloud services and modern development practices.
