About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Developer with strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle APEX to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance Oracle database applications. This role demands a deep understanding of backend database development and hands-on experience building secure, user-friendly applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Oracle database applications using PL/SQL and Oracle APEX

  • Develop complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and packages

  • Optimize and tune existing database processes for performance and scalability

  • Collaborate with front-end developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Maintain and enhance existing Oracle APEX applications

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers

  • Ensure application security, data integrity, and high availability

  • Document development work and provide support during testing and deployment

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Oracle database development

  • Expert in PL/SQL writing efficient, maintainable, and secure code

  • Strong experience in developing and maintaining Oracle APEX applications (version 20.x or higher preferred)

  • Solid understanding of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques

  • Experience integrating APEX with external systems via RESTful services or APIs

  • Knowledge of Oracle tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar

  • Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI) environments

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for Oracle applications

  • Basic front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) within APEX environments

  • Previous experience in a senior or team lead capacity
