Hire Resolve, a leading recruitment agency, is currently seeking an experienced General Manager in the Logistics industry to join our client in Durban. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all logistics operations for our clients, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve regional goals and revenue targets
  • Ensure compliance to customs and SARS requirements
  • Oversee daily operations and manage regional budget and costs
  • Foster collaboration between operations and commercial teams
  • Engage regularly with key customers
  • Drive commercially focused business vision
  • Develop performance objectives aligned with national targets
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (rail & ports) for efficient supply chain
  • Prepare and present financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Promote operational excellence and embed it in the region
  • Exceed customer service requirements
  • Maintain a safe operating environment for regional staff
  • Design regional growth strategy and goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or similar.
  • 5+ years experience in a senior leadership role within the logistics industry
  • Strong knowledge of Logistics, Operations, regulations, Imports and Exports
  • Commercial and Operational experience in Warehousing, Supply Chain, Logistics and refined metal exports in Africa
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Sound financial acumen and budgeting skills
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems
  • Experience in implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies
