Overview

BlueCloud seeks an experienced
DevOps / Platform Support Engineer
to support and enhance African Bank's application environments and CI/CD ecosystem.

You'll play a critical role in automating deployments, maintaining infrastructure stability, and ensuring smooth operation of core banking applications running across Docker and Kubernetes platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize
    CI/CD pipelines
    using
    GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
    .
  • Maintain and secure
    Docker containers
    and orchestrate workloads on
    Kubernetes
    .
  • Oversee
    artifact repositories
    and image management through
    Artifactory
    .
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to streamline application delivery.
  • Monitor platform health and performance, ensuring uptime and resilience.
  • Implement and manage
    Redis
    and
    Vault
    for caching, secrets management, and security.
  • Support deployment of
    WildFly, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat
    applications.
  • Drive automation initiatives and improve platform observability.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD, build, and deployment issues efficiently.

Core Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years
    in DevOps, cloud operations, or application platform engineering.
  • Proven experience with
    GitLab CI/CD
    ,
    Jenkins
    ,
    Docker
    ,
    Artifactory
    , and
    SonarQube
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Kubernetes
    management (deployments, services, Helm, etc.).
  • Familiarity with
    Vault
    (HashiCorp) and

  • Experience with
    Linux-based environments

    bash scripting

    infrastructure automation tools
    .
  • Solid understanding of
    networking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT diploma or degree.
  • Certifications in
    AWS / Kubernetes / DevOps
    (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with
    Keycloak
    or other identity and access management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
