What the role is about:

  • Our client is looking for a Client Accountant to join their outsourced accounting division. This is a portfolio management role where you'll take full ownership of client accounts from start to finish rather than just processing transactions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing your own portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and reporting packs
  • Handling VAT, payroll, and compliance submissions in collaboration with the tax team
  • Preparing year-end working papers and supporting audits/independent reviews
  • Working with cloud-based systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Engaging directly with clients, handling queries, and improving processes

What we're looking for:

  • Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
  • Practical experience in client accounting (mid-tier/smaller firm background advantageous)
  • Solid understanding of IFRS for SMEs and tax-related processes (VAT, payroll, corporate tax)
  • Comfortable with cloud accounting systems and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Someone proactive, detail-driven, and confident managing their own portfolio
