Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location: Cape Town (Hybrid/Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for an SDET to champion quality across the development lifecycle. Youll combine software engineering expertise with quality assurance practices to design and implement testing strategies that ensure reliable, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for features, enhancements, and fixes.

  • Build and maintain automated test suites using frameworks like Cypress, Jest, PHPUnit, or Codeception.

  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality is embedded early.

  • Research and implement new testing tools, including AI-powered solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in QA, software testing, or SDET roles.

  • Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (JavaScript, PHP).

  • Familiarity with frameworks such as or Symfony.

  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
