Professional Architect/ Graduate Architect/ Architectural Technologist

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years working as a Professional Architect, Graduate Architect, Architectural Technologist or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Architecture, or BTech (Architectural Technology) or Bachelor of Architectural Studies, or Equivalent

Preferably registered with SACAP as a professional or candidate.

Skills:

· Must be proficient in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, 3D Modeling and rendering

· Must have excellent presentation, writing and communication skills (verbal)

· Have a thorough knowledge of construction materials and structure

· Have a thorough understanding of National Building regulations, SANS, NEC and JBCC contracts

· Have wide knowledge of software and applications (Lumion, Photoshop, AI applications etc)

· Be self- motivated and able to work independently

Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to:

· Develop sketch design drawings into technical drawings

· Produce accurate, clear and understandable technical drawings that conform to professional and international standards

· Do technical / product research and apply it to documentation

· Compile specifications

· Manage and plan production drawings

· Manage Contract Administration (Stage 5)

· Interface with the project team on a regular basis

Experience and Skills:

· Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position

· Preferably registered with SACAP

· Be proficient in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, BIM, 3D modeling and rendering

· Have excellent presentation, writing and verbal communication skills

· Have a thorough knowledge of building technology and construction and an ability to resolve and prepare quality technical drawings and documentation in a fast- track and challenging work environment

· Be a creative and critical thinker able to quickly resolve work- specific problems and challenges

· Be able to undertake research on various aspects of the project cycle from inception to working drawings.

· Have a thorough understanding of SANS, National Building Regulations and the JBCC contract as applied to building projects.

· Be able to effortlessly interact with other project team members often in a leadership capacity

· Have wide knowledge of software and applications (e.g. Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Lumion, and AI applications)

· Able to work independently and be self- motivated.

· Able to travel often with a clean valid driver's licence

Job Description

· Undertake research, brief formulation, feasibility studies and reporting and prepare presentation drawings

· Prepare approval and working drawings, specifications and contract documentation.

· Undertake site supervision and contract administration

· Interact with project team members and complementary consultants

· Undertake project management and planning
