Junior Lab Assistant – Mineral Processing
Location: Middelburg | Qualification: BTech Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering

Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Junior Lab Assistant to support metallurgical and process operations in our mineral processing plants. This is a hands-on role ideal for early-career professionals eager to grow their laboratory and process skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine lab tests and analyses to support metallurgical operations.
  • Perform fire assay, AAS, sample digestion, milling, settling, and flotation bench tests.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment (mills, ovens, furnaces, balances, filter presses).
  • Prepare, label, and record samples accurately with proper documentation.
  • Adhere to quality control and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with metallurgists and process teams to report findings, anomalies, and trends.
Requirements:
  • BTech in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • 0–2 years lab or plant experience; mineral processing exposure an advantage.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
