POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WEEKLY HOURS: 45 Hours + After Hours Call

Purpose of Position:

  • To perform routine and stat analyses of samples and maintain analyzers / instruments in a Clinical Laboratory

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Biomedical Technology/BHSc MLS (Clinical Pathology)
  • 1-2 Years HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist (Clinical Pathology)
  • Understanding of pathology test procedures.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control
  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word
  • Computer skills
  • Communication skills
  • Numerical reasoning skills

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of the computer system
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Flowpath's safety; health and environment management policy
  • Training skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support within laboratory in order to ensure the efficient flow of specimens and timeous resulting of specimen
  • Perform administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory
  • Train laboratory staff in order to ensure continuous development and education
  • Maintain good client relations in order to promote the image of Flowpath
  • Process routine bench work in laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens
