Easypay Insurance forms part of the Lesaka Group, a financial technology and services business focused on supporting cash-based, underserved, and low-income customer segments across South Africa. The group provides financial access through digital platforms, community networks, and consumer-focused solutions that prioritise relevance and affordability.

Easypay Insurance is seeking a Head of Insurance Strategy and Business Development to lead the insurance growth agenda across the Consumer business. The role is responsible for shaping long-term insurance strategy, driving product and distribution development, and expanding financial inclusion through accessible, high-impact solutions for underserved and low-income customers

.

Key responsibilities include:


• Leading the design and execution of the insurance strategy across product, market positioning, and distribution.


• Identifying market opportunities, customer insights, and emerging trends to drive growth.


• Overseeing product development, pricing, compliance, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management.


• Ensuring strong governance, regulatory alignment, and commercial sustainability.


• Expanding distribution channels across digital, mobile, agent, and community-based models.


• Building strategic partnerships with community organisations, Lesaka group companies, and corporate clients.


• Driving business development initiatives that increase product uptake and market penetration.


• Influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating across cross-functional teams to unlock new opportunities.

Minimum requirements:


• Relevant bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate qualification.


• At least 10 years of long-term insurance experience focused on product and business development, with 5+ years in senior leadership.


• Completed RE1 and RE5.


• FAIS Fit and Proper to serve as Key Individual and Representative for Long-term Insurance categories A, B1, B2, B1-A, B2-A, and C.


• Proven experience contributing to strategic planning and execution at an executive level.


• Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and partnership development.
