About the role:

As the
Manager: Analytics Engineering
at Capitec, you will play a pivotal role in designing and managing scalable data pipelines and ensuring efficient analytics operations to empower data-driven decision-making. Your focus will be on driving innovation in data integration and feature store development, enabling seamless collaboration between data science and BI teams.

In this role, you will lead the creation of robust feature stores to support AI/ML model development and semantic models for enhanced analytics and reporting. You'll ensure the alignment of data engineering solutions with analytics platforms while upholding best practices in data engineering and governance. By fostering collaboration and implementing cutting-edge solutions, you will contribute to Capitec's growth as a leader in advanced analytics and data-driven insights.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Over 5 years in data engineering or analytics engineering, including 2 years as a manager or team lead within an analytical team.
  • Proficient in SQL and delivering complex analytical requirements.
  • Managing senior and executive level stakeholders and influencing decision making at these levels
  • Utilising data Pipelining tools such as Apache, Airflow, AWS Glue
  • Data visualisation with tools such as PowerBI
  • Big data frameworks – Hadoop/Kafka
  • Github experience or Git
