Are you a strategic finance leader who thrives in complex, project-driven environments?
Our client is seeking a seasoned Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function and drive disciplined financial management across the business.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the full finance function including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cashbook.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Produce management reports, variance analyses, and financial insights for executive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates.
  • Track performance against budgets and operational targets.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and cash flow.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Manage cash flow planning and liquidity.
  • Oversee banking relationships and optimise the use of facilities.
  • Monitor working capital across stock, debtors, and creditors.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC, and all relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain audit readiness.

Operational & Project Support

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to provide cost analysis and profitability insights.
  • Support capex planning, asset management, and costing models.
  • Ensure accurate job costing, bill of materials costing, and margin management on engineering projects.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor finance staff.
  • Drive accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement in the finance team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting / Financial Management (essential)
  • Qualified CA(SA) (essential)
  • 5–10 years' finance experience with a minimum of 5 years post-articles
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation, and financial systems
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments is advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting/ERP systems
