About this role

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of all construction activities on a renewable energy project construction site. This role involves monitoring construction processes, conducting inspections, and enforcing quality standards to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects. The Quality Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and performance of the construction work.

Duties and responsibilities 

On-Site Representation

  • Act as the primary on-site representative for the employer in terms of quality control, ensuring that all project activities meet the required quality standards.
  • Maintain close communication with the EPC contractor to monitor the development and implementation of the QMS and Quality Plan.

Quality Oversight

  • Oversee the contractor's quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities, materials, and processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
  • Identify and report on any quality issues or non-conformities, ensuring timely resolution by the EPC contractor/s.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all quality-related activities, including inspection reports, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Provide regular quality status reports to the employer's project management team, highlighting any risks or issues that may impact project quality.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless communication and alignment on quality expectations.
  • Facilitate quality-related meetings and workshops, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence on-site.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential quality risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
  • Ensure that all quality-related risks are documented and communicated to the employer's project management team.

Required skills and education background.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in on-site quality management within the renewable energy sector, preferably on EPC projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing quality assurance and quality control on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is a plus.
