Introduction

A client of ours, a leading consulting engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services division. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in electrical design for building projects to take on a key technical and leadership role within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical design and delivery of complex building projects, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.
  • Design and review lighting, power distribution, standby systems, earthing, and low-voltage systems.
  • Manage project deliverables, from concept to construction documentation and commissioning.
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, structural and mechanical engineers, and other professionals to ensure fully integrated designs.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical input during construction and project close-out phases.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years' experience in electrical building services design, with a proven track record on commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
  • Registration with ECSA as a PrEng / PrTechEng, or eligible for registration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SANS and IEC standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
