RESTAURANT RESERVATIONIST & ADMINISTRATOR

Stellenbosch: A prestigious hospitality destination in the Cape Winelands is seeking to employ an organised, service-driven Restaurant Reservationist & Administrator to join their dynamic team

Purpose of the Role: The Restaurant Reservationist & Administrator plays a key role in supporting the smooth daily operation of the Restaurant and Guest House. This position requires a highly organized and service-oriented individual responsible for managing guest reservations, coordinating administrative tasks, and maintaining efficient communication and operational standards across departments.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To
 
Administration
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and guest enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Coordinate diaries, meetings, and interdepartmental communication
  • Maintain databases, SOPs, and internal documentation
  • Oversee office supplies and ensure the smooth running of daily operations 
Restaurant Operations
  • Manage restaurant reservations, confirmations, and guest correspondence
  • Prepare and maintain function sheets for group bookings and events
  • Process POS transactions and assist with weekly cash-up and financial administration
  • Support supplier invoicing, petty cash management, and banking
  • Update menus, promotions, and event details on online platforms such as Dineplan, Dining Out, and Eat Out 
Boutique Administration
  • Train casual staff on operational procedures, POS systems, and product knowledge
  • Conduct regular stock counts, pricing updates, and cash-up reconciliations
  • Monitor supplier consignment stock and sales performance 
Guest House Operations
  • Coordinate guest house reservations and liaise with events teams and travel agents
  • Manage check-ins, check-outs, and guest communication with care and accuracy
  • Oversee housekeeping readiness, stock levels, and maintenance reporting 
Criteria
  • Matric (Grade 12) and tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Tourism Management is essential
  • 2–3 years' relevant hospitality experience in a similar role
  • Computer literacy with strong administrative competence
  • Valid Driver's Licence essential
  • Energetic, service-oriented, and passionate about hospitality
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Able to remain calm and solutions-driven under pressure
