This pool will be used to fill Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
We have 10 FTE to fill across multiple departments such as Paediatrics, Cancer Services, Emergency, General Ward and Remote Clinics.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Demonstrated extensive professional experience relevant to the role including an ability to work effectively as a sole practitioner in a remote, multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated broad nursing experience with recent accident and emergency skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with proven ability to engage effectively, negotiate, and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding of the principles of Primary Health Care and Community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in Quality Improvement, its practical application in meeting patients' needs and its relationship to strategic development.

Position Profile
To work as a member of a multidisciplinary team within a primary health care framework and philosophy in partnership with the Community and other organisation. To provide continuous, coordinated and comprehensive primary health care of advanced clinical level to families and individuals of that community.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Please refer to the WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program website for eligibility criteria.

Area Profile
WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health, and support staff.
