Company Description

An established technical apparel manufacturer is seeking a qualified Pattern Maker with a

diploma/degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in both manual and CAD-based

pattern making.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Pattern Maker, based in Ladysmith. The Pattern Maker will be responsible for creating and developing patterns based on garment specifications, using both manual and computer-aided design (CAD) methods. Day-to-day tasks include designing, fitting, and adjusting patterns, working closely with production teams to ensure accuracy, and facilitating smooth transitions from design to sewing. Collaboration with other departments to meet quality and production standards is an essential part of the role.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric certificate
• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion and Clothing Design (modules should include design principles, textile knowledge)
• Proficiency in Pattern Making, Pattern Design, and Fitting
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for pattern development
• Knowledge of Sewing techniques and garment construction
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in translating designs into patterns
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with production and design teams
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Formal training or certification in fashion design, pattern making, or a related field is an advantage
