Role:

AltGen is seeking a Group Senior Accountant to oversee the financial management, accounting operations, and reporting for a renewable energy company based in Cape Town. The role will collaborate with multiple teams to drive performance and ensure effective financial oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accurate reporting
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets across various projects and departments
  • Manage tax compliance for foreign currencies, including reporting and payments
  • Capture and reconcile month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes
  • Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimal financial performance
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as required
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional registration with SAIPA is required
  • Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience, with exposure to group-level accounting preferred
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy sector is essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax regulations
  • Experience managing foreign currency transactions and multi-country operations is advantageous
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
