Embelo Beacon are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Clerk to work as part of our Accounts department within the fast moving telecoms sector.

In this Team your role your duties will be varied including to ensure that all supplier invoices are accurately recorded, processed, and paid in a timely manner. The Accounts Team plays a key role in managing the company's accounts/finances and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

You would be joining a busy mobile telecom infrastructure company. This role would be office based Monday to Friday 0800 to 1700 at the Embelo offices, Observatory, Cape Town

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process a high volume of purchase invoices using accounting software (e.g., Sage)
  • Match, batch, and code invoices accurately
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare BACS payment runs
  • Monitor and manage the purchase ledger inbox
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper filing of documents
  • Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals and prepayments
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers regarding invoice queried
  • Support wider finance team as required

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Numerate with a good understanding of basic accounting principles

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger and/or accounts payable role (typically 1–2 years minimum)
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP etc.)
