About the Role

As
Head of Life Actuarial Product Development & Pricing
, you will set the strategic direction for product innovation and pricing across several international markets. You'll ensure that life insurance products are competitively designed, financially sustainable, and aligned with business growth objectives — all while maintaining compliance with regulatory and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.

This is a leadership role requiring a balance of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and people development skills. You'll report to the Head of Actuarial Services and work closely with executive leadership, local business heads, and actuarial teams across the group.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Product Vision

• Define and execute the overall strategy for life product development and pricing across multiple territories.
• Align product initiatives with group and market-level growth objectives.
• Identify opportunities for innovation by monitoring global and local market trends.

Product Development & Pricing

• Lead the design, development, and pricing of both individual and group life products.
• Oversee pricing models, profit testing, and assumption setting to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Ensure sound governance, documentation, and actuarial sign-off for all product launches.

Portfolio & Reinsurance Management

• Conduct regular product and pricing reviews based on emerging experience data.
• Manage reinsurance strategies, negotiate optimal terms, and integrate them into product design.
• Embed TCF principles and maintain robust actuarial controls throughout the product lifecycle.

Financial Performance & Compliance

• Monitor financial performance of life portfolios and lead experience investigations.
• Refine pricing assumptions and recommend improvements based on insights.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance across jurisdictions and manage product approval processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business leaders, distribution teams, and functional heads to deliver market-aligned solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams across valuations, IFRS17, finance, risk, and operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, bancassurance partners, and external stakeholders.

Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead and mentor the actuarial product development and pricing team.
• Build actuarial capability across regions through training, workshops, and coaching.
• Identify and nurture high-potential talent and ensure effective succession planning.

About You

You're a qualified actuary with extensive experience in life insurance product development and pricing, ideally across multiple markets. You bring strategic vision, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to balance innovation with sound risk management. You're also a people-focused leader who enjoys developing talent and building high-performing teams.
