The Role

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented
Senior Design Draughtsman

to lead the development of new product designs and support the evolution of Zorora's furniture collections. This role requires advanced CAD capability, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for designing products that are both aesthetically pleasing and efficient to manufacture.

Working closely with our COO, engineers, designers, and production teams, you will play a key part in shaping product architecture, improving processes, and ensuring our design output meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage design projects from concept through to completion.
  • Develop and oversee Technical Packages for new products and variations.
  • Provide advanced CAD drafting, modelling, and engineering input.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, and manufacturability.
  • Guide trial builds and support production with technical insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Customer Services and factory teams to refine designs.
  • Monitor costing models to ensure competitiveness and margin alignment.
  • Mentor junior designers and interns while contributing to training initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly with senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in design engineering or draughting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of materials, upholstery, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and deliver high-accuracy technical work.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
