Relief Operator

Key Responsibilities

 Planning the best possible way to optimise throughput.

 Routing raw materials and finished product to the correct bins.

 Checking all routes at the beginning of a shift and continuously during a shift.

 Drawing raw materials from the silos and store and placing it into the correct pre allocated storage bins.

 Informing Dispatch of any stoppages during normal working hours.

 Informing the Micro Store Co-ordinator of any additions and cancellations.

 Communicating production problems to the Production Supervisor

 Promptly reporting all breakdowns and constraints.

 Ensuring that both mixing lines are utilised fully

 Taking samples of finished meal and visibly examining the quality.

 Issuing sample packets to the Pellet Mill Operators and checking for irregularities.

 Checking results of durability tests and notify supervisor of any problems and reporting all discrepancies.

 Recording all feed produced and lost time incurred and recording details of lost time

 Ensuring that proper housekeeping is done for the relevant work area assigned .

 Adhering to the health and safety rules and regulations

Knowledge/Competencies

• Grade 12 with Mathematics

• Must have at least 2-3 years working experience in this industry or a similar type of role

• Must be able to calculate basic mathematics equations

• Must be able to read, write and converse in English

• Must have basic computer experience

• It would be preferable for candidates to have previous experience in a Feed Mill environment

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Clear criminal record

• Must be physically fit

• Willing to work in dust and hot environment
