Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a Strata Control Officer located in Polokwane. The Strata Control Officer will be responsible for assessing ground conditions and ensuring safe mining operations. The role includes conducting inspections, collaborating with mining engineers, and working with heavy equipment. Monitoring and evaluating platinum mining activities to meet safety and operational standards is a key responsibility. The role is for Dec. 2025 and Jan. 2026 only

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in working with heavy equipment in mining operations
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and report findings effectively
  • Knowledge and experience in mining engineering practices and principles
  • Inspection skills for identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance
  • Understanding and experience in coal mining operations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in mining, engineering, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a similar role or related mining operations is an advantage
