Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Junior Supply Planner and will be based in UPD Cape Town (Montague Gardens Distribution Centre). The position will report to the Central Replenishment Manager.

Job description

Job purpose:

To ensure the timely and efficient replenishment of pharmaceutical products to meet customer demand while minimising inventory costs and maximising service levels.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Inventory Management:

  2. Utilise inventory management software and tools to monitor inventory levels and forecast demand for products.

  3. Analyse sales data, historical trends, and market conditions to ensure accurate demand forecasts.

  4. Determine optimal inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts while minimising excess inventory.

  5. Order Processing:

  6. Generate purchase orders and replenishment requests based on demand forecasts and inventory policies.

  7. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.

  8. Monitor order status and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.

  9. Supplier Relationship Management:

  10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimise service levels.

  11. Collaborate with suppliers to address supply chain challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.

  12. Performance Monitoring:

  13. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate, inventory turnover, and stockout rate to assess replenishment performance.

  14. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimise inventory management processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.

  15. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  16. Work closely with buying, operations, and logistics teams to align replenishment plans with sales forecasts, promotional activities, and distribution requirements.

  17. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on inventory strategies and priorities.

Minimum requirements

Job experience

Essential:

  • 3 years' experience with a proven track record of managing a portfolio of products in inventory management, demand planning, or replenishment in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • 3 Years of dealing with suppliers
  • 2 - 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience

Desirable:

  • Experience with Demand Planning or Supply Planning software preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Math, Logistics, Supply Chain
