The Role

The
Equity Sales Trader
will be responsible for executing equity trades, servicing institutional clients, and delivering actionable market insights. You'll collaborate closely with portfolio managers, institutional trading desks. analysts, and our internal trading teams to identify and execute opportunities that add value for out clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute equity trades on behalf of institutional clients with precision and compliance.
  • Build and manage strong client relationships with fund managers, asset managers, and hedge funds.
  • Provide clients with up-to-date market color, trading ideas, and liquidity insights.
  • Work alongside research and operations teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Stay current with market trends, company news, and macroeconomic developments impacting equities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in
    equity sales trading
    , preferably in
    South African or Sub-Saharan markets
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    JSE trading systems
    and
    market microstructure
    .
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain institutional business.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship management skills.
  • Relevant FSCA regulatory qualifications (RE5 or equivalent);
    CFA or finance-related degree
    advantageous.
