Job Description

The role of Credit Risk Assurance provides independent oversight and support to retail teams who are responsible for managing credit risk. The role ensures that risk taken remain compatible with Risk Appetite and regulatory requirements. The main objective of the role is to develop, maintain and cascade the risk assurance framework and architecture in the context of the business strategy for all risk types and across all African geographies. The main deliverables of the role will be conducting Credit Risk Assurance Reviews, completing review reports and presenting results to senior stakeholders. The role will also partner with Risk Governance and NFR(i.e. Non-Financial Risk) partners, by providing key assurance insights and learnings, that enriches the content and effectiveness of Risk standards, policies, and procedures relevant to the business and aligned to the relevant Domain standards.

Qualifications

Completed Matric

Bachelor of Commerce Degree

Post Graduate Diploma Credit risk management, Governance and Internal Controls in a Retail Banking environment.

Experience

5-7 years' experience in Credit risk management, Governance and Internal Controls in a Retail Banking environment.

5-7 years' experience Leader of people or teams.

5-7 years experience in Risk assurance/ audit experience in a banking environment. An understanding of retail banking products (Secured and Unsecured) as well as the credit life cycle.
