ROLE PURPOSE

To carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work on residential and commercial projects. The role involves fault finding, installation of new systems, electrical testing, and ensuring all electrical work complies with health and safety regulations and national standards. The Electrician works closely with project managers, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.

Electrical Installations and Repairs


• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, control, and lighting systems.


• Read technical diagrams and blueprints.


• Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.


• Identify electrical problems using testing devices.


• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.


• Follow national electrical code, and state and local building regulations.

Project Execution


• Work according to project plans and coordinate with other team members.


• Install electrical systems for HVAC units, heat pumps, and general infrastructure.


• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of tasks as per site requirements

Compliance and Safety


• Conduct periodic testing and ensure installations are safe and compliant.


• Adhere to SANS and other relevant safety codes.


• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure good working condition.


• Report hazards and incidents as required.

Documentation and Reporting


• Complete daily job cards and project reports.


• Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent.


• Assist in compiling Certificates of Compliance (CoC)

Team Support and Communication


• Coordinate with Plumbers, Project Administrators, and Operations Managers.


• Assist HVAC Technicians as needed.


• Attend team meetings and provide input on job status and issues.

Tools and Materials Management


• Account for tools issued and report any losses or faults.


• Provide lists of required materials to supervisors in advance.


• Ensure proper storage and safeguarding of electrical equipment.

Qualifications:


• NQF Level 4–5 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent


• Wireman's license in HVAC (preferred)

Experience:


• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an electrical technician or electrician role


• Experience working with HVAC and Heat Pump systems is an advantage


• Attending to Callouts

Other requirements:


• Valid driver's license


• Willingness to travel between sites
