A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their sons in Grade 5 and Grade 9

Area: Irene Farm Villages

Ages: sons in Grade 5 and Grade 9

Working hours: Monday – Friday: 13h30 - 17h00

School holiday hours: Generally, the family do not require support during holidays. However, there may be an occasional day when they need help taking the kids to holiday sports at the school. They do continue to pay the salary during the holidays, even though they do not require the candidate to work, and they do not count this as leave.

Duties: The prep school (grade 5) finishes at 13h30. Their primary need is to ensure that the Grade 5 is collected on time and taken to sports activities hosted at the school. There is no need to drive him to any additional locations. However, it is crucial to collect his bags and ensure he is at practice since he does not have a phone, and phones are not allowed at school. He will also need help with homework and studying for tests and exams. The high school (grade 9) finishes at 14h00. He will require a lift home as his primary need. He is self-sufficient with homework and exams and will require no academic support. When he stays for sports, there is no need to fetch anything as he manages himself and will phone when he needs to be collected. However, once homework is finished, there is no need to stay. The family are very particular about collection times and need a candidate who is punctual. Their current approach involves fetching the Grade 5 and waiting for the Grade 9 on days he needs to go home. Alternatively, when Grade 5 has sports, they bring the Grade 9 home and then go back for Grade 5. It is important that candidates are punctual and reliable, as they do not have the flexibility to step in at short notice regularly.

Start date: 12th January 2026 – permanent contract

Salary: R8500 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.76)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

**** Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.

****Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.

****Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.

****Must have a clear criminal record

****Must have a passion for children

****Must have Matric

****Must have a South African ID document.
