rehab porter

Location: Sandringham – Johannesburg

Position Type: Permanent

The main function of the role is to assist in the transportation of residents and supplies within Sandringham Gardens and related facilities.

• Safe transportation of residents from their wards to the rehabilitation department or other allocated areas within Sandringham Gardens, for daily therapeutic interventions
• Assist with basic transfers of residents, under supervision
• Maintain quality and inventory of mobility aids such as walkers and wheelchairs and
• Carry-out minor maintenance checks and repairs to mobility aids and assistive devices
• Keep all wheelchairs clean and in good condition
• Ensure continuity of care when transporting patients
• Liaise with supervisor to find out where residents need to be transported and returned to
• Make sure all documents are collected and taken with to the appointed clinic/doctor/area
• Report injury/incidents to supervisors and relevant parties

• Caregiving qualification is advantageous
• 2 years' experience as a porter
