Job Title: Patching Foreman

We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate for the role of Patching Foreman in the construction Industry

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision & Planning

Repair & Maintenance: Specializes in repairing damaged sections like roads (asphalt)

Substrate Prep: Ensures surfaces are properly prepared before repairs or installations

Preventative Action: Proactively fixes issues to extend structure life and avoid major failures.

Plan and organize daily tasks, prioritizing based on project needs.

Inspect sites for hazards and diagnose repair requirements.

Read blueprints, specs, and drawings to guide work.

Resource Management:

• Assign, delegate, and monitor tasks for repair technicians/workers.
• Manage manpower, equipment (tools, machinery), and materials.
• Train and mentor team members, ensuring skill development.
• Quality & Safety Compliance:
• Enforce strict safety protocols, PPE, and company policies.
• Implement quality control measures and check final product.
• Ensure adherence to building codes and standards.
• Reporting & Administration:
• Prepare progress reports for management.
• Maintain accurate records of work and materials used.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures.
• Problem Solving:
• Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve site challenges.
• Address punch list items and deficiencies promptly.

Qualifications and experience

• Technical Skills: Key technical abilities include:
• Knowledge of various paving materials and techniques.
• Familiarity with the maintenance and safe operation of heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret project requirements and job instructions.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong focus on safety and quality assurance.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Matric/NQF Level 4 certificate or a relevant technical qualification, along with practical experience.
