**Junior Project Financial Analyst Position Description
**Location**: Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa

Windlab is seeking an enthusiastic financial analyst to join its global renewable energy

development team. This position reports to the Head of Development in Africa, and is

responsible for operating and interpreting financial models, and other project finance

related activities, in support of Windlab’s development activities globally. The Project

Financial Analyst is based in Cape Town or Johannesburg but interacts closely with

Windlab’s African development teams based in South Africa, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi.

The role also requires supporting the engagement with project financiers during the

sourcing of debt and equity and is fundamental to the financial close process.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the lead financial modellers and operate high quality financial models for

renewable energy projects across Windlab’s global development portfolio.
- Produce analyses from those models to optimise Windlab’s returns, support

decision making in the development team, and facilitate financing.
- Support developers and the Windlab executives in assessing offtake, financing,

and structuring opportunities.
- Pro-actively seek improvements in Windlab’s project financing and structuring.
- The role will require both domestic and international travel.
- Conduct preparation and review of materials, including investment memoranda,

management presentations, and pitchbooks
- Develop relationships within the industry in order to expand the business
- Perform due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of transactions
- Create presentations for internal and external use
- Keep abreast of current events, critical issues, and relevant news

**Key requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics
- Experience gained in a finance, business or renewable energy background
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with mínimal supervision
- Impeccable research, quantitative and analytical skills, especially in explaining

market events
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
- Ability to organize and track overlapping tasks and assignments, with frequent

priority changes
