Instrumentation Technician

The successful applicant will report to the Senior Instrumentation Technician or nominee.

**MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Maths / Maths Literacy.
- Trade Test Certificate: Instrumentation Mechanician / Technician.
- National Diploma: Electrical/Industrial / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
- Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
- ** Advantageous**: N6: Electrical / Industrial / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
- ** Advantageous**:Supervisory Course

**EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to)**:

- 5 years practical experience in relevant trade.
- 2 -years practical experience in an Automated Processing Plant (included above).

**DUTIES (including but not limited to)**:

- Ensure optimum availability and reliability of equipment in support of effective and continuously improved plant operations.
- Calibration, repair and maintenance of control instrumentation and associated equipment to ensure operation within set standards. Perform root cause analysis to address asset performance problems and or reduce cost. Fault finding and maintenance on PLC and SCADA (hardware and software) and perform changes / modifications as required. Assist in commissioning of modifications / projects. Ensure proper documentation of changes/ modifications.
- Perform the asset care activities as required by the JDE system and procedures, including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders.
- Accurately and timeously report process equipment deviations to supervisor to meet / improve equipment availability and reliability targets.
- Initiation of concepts, planning and implementation of projects to ensure continuous improvement.
