**Position Title**: Cotton Rope Craftsman
**Location**: Cape-Town
**Reports To**: Director

**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Handcrafting**: Create cotton rope handbags according to specific designs and patterns. Ensure each piece meets quality standards for construction and design.
- **Material Preparation**: Measure, cut, and prepare cotton rope and other materials needed for handbag production.
- **Design Implementation**: Follow detailed instructions and design specifications to craft handbags that reflect the brand's unique style and vision.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the required quality standards, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
- **Inventory Management**: Track the usage of materials and tools, ensuring that supplies are replenished as needed.
- **Tool Maintenance**: Maintain and care for the tools and equipment used in the production process, ensuring they are in good working order.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in crafting with têxtiles, especially cotton rope.
- Proven experience of working with a Zig Zag sewing machine
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- Knowledge of different knotting and weaving techniques used in handbag making.
- Ability to work efficiently in a production environment, meeting deadlines and production targets.
- Passion for handcrafted products and sustainable fashion.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience in working with other materials such as leather, canvas, or other têxtiles.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to new design ideas.

**Compensation**:
Negotiable depending on experience/ working hours agreed
