Job Purpose

To support the Manager of Remuneration and Benefits in delivering a high-quality remuneration and benefits service, by ensuring timely and accurate pay to employees (in accordance with agreed policies and procedures, contracts of employment and statutory legislation and benefits administration).

The Coordinator-Remuneration and Benefits reports to the Manager
- Remuneration and Benefits and does not have any direct reports.
- Duties & Responsibilities
Compensation and benefits:

- Assist with the administration of benefit programme design (insurance, wellness etc.)
- Administer timely payment of monthly premiums (Discovery, Fed health, etc.)
- Administer employee onboarding enrollments (medical aid forms, pension forms etc.)
- Handle all benefit compensation and reimbursement procedures
- Coordinate leave of absence and process claims or requests (medical operations, worker’s compensation etc.)
- Manage and update employee records with all relevant information (marital status, years of service, hours worked etc.)
- Collaborate with finance department for payments
- Coordinate all administration for company retirement fund (including risk benefits, disability, funeral and life cover)
- Assist in the embedding of remuneration and benefits policies and procedures to the business
- Support in the coordination of the Employee Assistance Programme, including national wellness days

Payroll:

- Verify payroll documentation received and process payroll data (accurately and within specified deadlines), including but not limited to - benefits, salary changes, share scheme proceeds, overtime etc.
- Prepare the payroll, within agreed timeframes, for review and final sign off
- Ensure all relevant payroll information and payroll input files are kept updated for all employees
- Ensure remuneration and benefits queries are resolved within 48 hours
- Ensure EMP 201 submission to SARS is done on time (to meet statutory and legal obligations of the company)
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll and third-party accounts to ensure accurate payments
- Adhere to payroll standards and conform to legislative requirements
- Maintain a proper document control system
- Provide support to the Manager of Remuneration and Benefits, to ensure smooth delivery of deliverables to the business
- Build and maintain sound relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

A. Role Location
Growthpoint Head Office in Sandton, Johannesburg. This position is office based and works on a normal 40 hours a week. Busy periods may require extra hours to ensure deadlines are met.

Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in remuneration administration
- Sound understanding of payroll systems and controls
- Minimum of three to five years’ benefits administration experience
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

**Qualifications**:

- Human Resource diploma/ Payroll-related tertiary qualification
- SAGE VIP certification
- Advanced knowledge of South African tax legislation
