Our client is a top industrial producer of copper-related products in South Africa, they are currently looking for a Qualified Red Seal Fitter and Turner to join their first-rate technical service team, to be responsible for the set-up of machinery, repairs and/or replacement of components, installation and maintenance of plant and machinery.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Primary Purpose: Setting up of machinery, repairs or replacement of components, installation and maintenance of plant and machinery.

Job description / core competencies:
Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.

File, grind, shim, turn, torque, manufacture and assemble parts/components to manufacture and or repair machines / equipment.

Conduct tests ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.

Cut, shape, steel to specified lengths or shapes, using conventional or CNC machinery.

Interpretate drawings and ensure that the components made adhere to drawings requirements.

Measure, mark, and scribe parts/components using instruments such as protractors, micrometres, scribes, and rulers.

Inspect finished parts/components for defects.

Study blueprints, drawings/sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.

Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications.

Machine Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of machinery.

Fault finding, Electrical, Electromechanical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and mechanical drives.

Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order.

Perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the production procedures.

Calibrate machines at the beginning of each shift and or job.

Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running.

Troubleshoot problems during machine operation.

Perform random tests to ensure accuracy on your machining work and record measurements accordingly.

Perform safety checks on every machine.

Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output.

Replace worn or defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Scheduled planned maintenance.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks.

Report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.

Responsible for the quality and accuracy of work/service.

**Location**: Springs, Gauteng

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Must reside in the East Rand.

Driver’s license, own reliable transport.

Able to work shifts.

Recognised RED SEAL Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and Turner.

Min 3 years’ experience in an engineering industrial manufacturing environment.

Computer literacy - Microsoft Office.
