**Brief description of the vacancy**

The cloud computing job role is responsible for the design, planning and management of the cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with API's, orchestration and automation, DevOps and databases are all preferred on top of computer science skills. You must demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, have the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills. You should have extensive experience in software development, be able to keep up to date with deadlines, and have strong analytical skills. Over and above this, the individual must ensure IT service delivery by supporting appropriate processes to run a successful IT enabled business. As a member of the team, you will gain experience in a broad range of cloud technologies.

**Experience required**
- Familiarity with the three big public cloud computing platforms i.e., AWS, Microsoft Azure and GCP is essential. Familiarity with other companies with cloud platforms include IBM, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, DigitalOcean and Alibaba Cloud is desired
- Adept at coding APIs and the links used to integrate workloads into the cloud. The most common types of APIs used in the cloud are REST and GraphQL.
- Good understanding of different database types (including relational database, NoSQL, graph database and data warehouse offerings), how they work and what they enable is essential
- Knowledge of networking basics, including how to establish connections across resources and locations
- A firm grasp of the fundamentals of AI and machine learning
- Knowledge of securing personally identifiable information stored in the cloud
- In-depth understanding of how each type of cloud storage works
- Knowledge of how to properly configure cloud orchestration
- Design, build, deploy, maintain and administer Linux-based servers
- Determine the technical specifications of a project, creating technical blueprints and editing code
- Write well documented and maintainable code
- Meet with vendors to determine their software needs, coding and testing software to ensure functionality and updating software programs
- Debugging and troubleshooting

**Qualifications required**
- A minimum of 7 years software development experience (working with multiple programming languages and frameworks)
- Relevant degree/ diploma
- Proficiency in 3 or more programming languages

**Computer Skills required**
- Proficiency in source control
- Extensive knowledge and experience of data structures, algorithms, and the design of relational databases
- Ability to continuously perform whilst working under pressure
- Extensive experience within SDLC
- Experience with testing frameworks
- Experience with continuous integration and DevOps tools
- Experience with version control
- Extensive experience with different software architecture
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Relevant knowledge and experience of technologies, frameworks and tools
- Experience writing code in Java, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS
- Must have working experience on the following tools/IDEsVisual Studio Code, Git, Microsft Azure, Devops, Sonar Qube, Nexus
- Experience using SQL to update and retrieve data
- Experience in front-end or back-end software development for UNIX or LINUX

Pay: R20,000.00 - R60,000.00 per month
