Key Performance Area:

- Oversee the Quality Control team and ensure that they abide by all Quality Control functions to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer
- Analyse, interpret and enforce customer specifications during the testing phase of projects
- Follow Quality Control plans and ensuring the Quality Control team abide by these specifications
- Provide technical information; interpret performance results on testing of Medium and Low Voltage power connections, considering national and/or international standards applicable
- Co-ordinate quality checks and inspections on products during the manufacturing process
- Final sign off co-ordination before Customer Factory Acceptance testing
- Plan and Schedule quality checks assigned to quality control team
- Verification of Quality Control documents before hand over to customer
- Complete monthly reports for top management
- Schedule all client factory acceptance with customers
- Oversee and attend all client factory acceptance testing and release
- Allocate resources per job as per Dispatch List from PPC
- Ensure the jobs are delivered on time as per PPC planning (dispatch list)
- Responsible to maintain and enforce 5s principals
- Assist with factory administration; i.e.: training of employees, KPI’s, day-to-day work instructions, keeping ISO training records up to date, etc.
- Oversee and guide all quality control measures

Minimum Requirements:

- Trade test, or minimum N6 qualification
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a quality role, in an electrical switch gear environment
- Knowledge of national and international standards applied to Medium and Low Voltage electrical installations
- Knowledge of Syspro is required
- Knowledge of electrical schematics as well as General Assembly drawings is critical
- Good knowledge of Medium and Low voltage switch gear
- Basic knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 standards applicable to design, leadership and customer care
- Computer literacy especially in Excel and Microsoft Word
- A code 8 driver’s licence & valid passport (On occasion project requirements may necessitate travel to site wherever this may within South Africa or Sub-Saharan Africa)
- Must be highly diligent in fault finding, technical and visual inspections as to oversee the work of the Quality Control team
- Ability to work well in team setting but strict enough to supervise the quality control team
- Ability to cope under pressure
- Ability to plan and co-ordinate projects and quality team schedules
- A decision maker that can identify risks and opportunities in the quality output and sign off to customers
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
