Patrol Leader: Systems

Duties/Pligte
- Acting as enquiry and reference point for Stellenbosch University (SU) during duties in the Operational Centre and patrols on campus;
- Providing timeous reaction for standby duty where emergency services are deployed on campus;
- Handling telephonic reports and enquiries;
- Monitoring radio communication in use by the University, and dispatching officers accordingly;
- Receiving all reports and recording these onto the electronic database;
- Monitoring CCTV cameras in use by the University;
- Monitoring the alarm system in use by the University;
- Dispatching officers to attend to alarm activations and emergency situations on campus;
- Serving as contact and reference point wherever the University community requires support or emergency services;
- Assisting where client system fire demonstrations and safety talks are held;
- Proactively patrolling by motor, bicycle, and on foot (from time to time);
- Proactively identifying, investigating, following up and record keeping of high risk circumstances that can jeopardise the safety of Stellenbosch University property and community;
- Acting and / or relieving as Shift Leader when required.

- Ontvang alle rapporterings en meld dit aan op die elektroniese databasis;
- Monitering van die WhatsApp toepassing en reageer so gou doenlik op versoeke;
- Monitering van die Universiteit se CCTV kringtelevisie;
- Monitering van die Universiteit se alarmstelsel;
- Stuur beamptes om aandag te gee aan alarms wat afgaan en noodsituasies op kampus;
- Dien as kontak
- en verwysingspunt waar die Universiteit-gemeenskap bystand
- of nooddienste benodig;
- Hulpverlening waar branddemonstrasies en veiligheidspraatjies vir die kliëntestelsel gehou word;
- Proaktiewe patrollering per motor, fiets, en te voet (van tyd tot tyd);
- Proaktiewe identifisering, ondersoek, opvolg en rekordhouding van hoë risiko omstandighede wat die veiligheid van die US se eiendom en gemeenskap bedreig;
- Dien as / staan in vir die Skofleier soos vereis word.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12), or equivalent qualification;
- Valid registration with PSIRA;
- Grade A or B security training;
- Events registered in terms of PSIRA;
- Four or more years' proven security and control room experience;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- Contactable work related references;
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel;
- No criminal record;
- Willingness to work shifts;
- Willingness to work overtime / additional services as required from time to time;
- Own transport to and from work.
- 'n Senior Sertifikaat (Graad 12), of 'n gelykwaardige kwalifikasie;
- Geldige registrasie by PSIRA;
- Graad A of B sekuriteitsopleiding;
- Registrasie by PSIRA vir geleenthede;
- Vier of meer jaar se bewese sekuriteits
- en beheerkamerervaring;
- Uitstekende mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede;
- Kontakbare werkverwante verwysings;
- Rekenaargeletterdheid, met vaardigheid in MS Outlook, Word en Excel;
- Geen kriminele rekord;
- Bereidwilligheid om skofte te werk;
- Bereidwilligheid om ekstra dienste / oortyd te verrig soos van tyd tot tyd vereis word;
- Eie vervoer van en na werkplek.

- Valid Code EB driver's licence;
- Related client-service training;
- The ability to compile reports and documents in MS Word and Excel;
- Knowledge and experience in using an electronic reporting system;
- Knowledge and experience in using CCTV camera systems;
- Knowledge and experience in using the alarm systems;
- Experience at a tertiary or similar institution.
