Facilities Assistant

Duties/Pligte **Facility supervision**:
- Regularly inspecting facilities to identify issues and to ensure compliance with health and safety standards;
- Ensuring the identification of minor repairs and the reporting thereof to the rugby coordinator;
- Managing inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials of the facilities;
- Communicating with the club management teams to plan and support events and activities hosted at the facilities;
- Responding to facilities-related emergencies and addressing issues in a timely manner;
- Conducting regular facility walkthroughs to identify areas for improvement;
- Managing the rugby field facility before, during and after activities on the field;
- Responsible for opening and closing the facility.
**Logistical support**:
- Washing the training and match wear of all teams and ensuring its readiness for all sessions where needed;
- Preparing all the relevant equipment for the needs of all teams;
- Responsible for reporting and maintenance of the equipment at the stadium;
- Repairing equipment on site, or recommending repair/replacement of equipment where necessary;
- Executing minor technical work;
- Overseeing the execution of minor work requests within the sport environment;
- Assisting with the continuous monitoring of contractors' service levels and the reporting thereof.
**Operational excellence**:
- Having weekly meetings with the rugby coordinator;
- Having monthly meetings with the head of rugby to assess overall performance and ensure wellbeing;
- Supporting the rugby coordinator to maintain accurate records and documentation related to facility maintenance activities;
- Preparing and maintaining stock management records with regards to equipment, and submitting a monthly report to the rugby coordinator.
**Functional relationships**:
- The facilities assistant will report directly to the head of rugby with a day-to-day functional relationship with the rugby coordinator.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- At least five years' previous experience in sport facility supervision, maintenance, or a related sport facility;
- Strong organisational and time management skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Willingness and availability to work according to a flexible schedule, including on weekends and evenings as needed.

- Additional education or certification in facility supervision and / or management.
