Main Purpose of the Position

Responsible for chocolate: production product development and testing to ensure batches are produced at quality and standard required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Produces all product for Good Batch
- Ensures new Product development and recipe testing
- Management of Tempering machine
- Responsible for Tempering unit which includes:

- Turn on machine
- Ensure chocolate tempers to the correct temperatures
- Test the chocolate
- Clean down and switch off machine
- Molding of chocolate
- Shelling
- Capping
- Oversees team performance and delegates responsibility:

- Writes out delivery job cards for the Ganache team
- Raises concerns regarding: hygiene/cleanliness and general factory procedures against documented procedures to management.
- Staff disciplinary procedure: Report/counsel/HR involvement.
- Ensure accurate Departmental stock control
- Ensure Production output completed timeously and submitted
- Present all Job cards received from Assistant for Ganache to Senior
- Liaise with Administration and Supervisor for packaging to ensure orders are processed and packed correctly.
- Give monthly feedback to management on progress and any challenges faced.
- Raise Day to day concerns to direct report within 24 hours of the incident, followed up with disciplinary action where required
- Implement monthly findings and corrective actions into the facility where needed.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum requirements

Experience
- 3 years’ experience as a Chocolatier - In a similar role - Have an in-depth knowledge of the products and materials working with so that notice if a product doesn’t meet certain standards
- Check the output to ensure that all products are the same, keeping a record of any defective items
- Has the ability to make Ganache

Education
- School Matric
- Tertiary Qualified as a Chocolatier
- Excel course
